My Event Was Canceled — What Do I Do?

We know how disappointing it can be when an event you were looking forward to gets canceled. Whether you’re still at home or already on the go, we’re here to help guide you through what happens next.

What happens when an event is canceled?

If your event is officially canceled, you may automatically receive a refund through the ticket partner or original seller. This depends on how and when the ticket was issued — some platforms process these refunds directly, while others require action from the seller.

We recommend keeping an eye on your email (including spam/junk folders) for updates from Ticketmaster or other third-party ticket providers.

What if I bought my ticket through Got2Go?

You're protected by the Got2Go Buyers Guarantee. If your event is canceled and you haven’t already received a refund, we’ve got you covered.

Here’s what to do:

  • Check whether a refund has already been issued from the ticket provider or seller.

  • If you haven’t received anything, contact our support team and we’ll take care of it — either by issuing a full refund or helping you claim one through the original seller.

Learn more about your coverage in our Buyer Guarantee article.

I already started traveling — what now?

If you’ve already made travel plans or arrived at the destination only to find out the event is canceled, get in touch with us. We’ll do our best to help turn the situation around.

In some cases, we may be able to help you:

  • Find alternative events or tickets happening nearby

  • Explore options for replacement experiences

  • Assist with confirming refund eligibility for the original ticket

While we can’t reverse the cancellation, we’ll do everything we can to help salvage the trip.

Final tips

  • Always confirm event status before traveling or heading to the venue.

  • Keep a record of any messages or confirmations regarding the cancellation.

  • If the event is rescheduled rather than canceled, your original ticket may still be valid — the event organizer will confirm this directly.

  • Don't follow advice from non-official event pages, confirm what to do and expect from official pages only.
